Born in Wallasey in 1961, David began his musical career as a choir boy at St Hilary’s Church, Wallasey. Piano lessons with Valerie MacLean, followed by organ lessons with Tim Lawford at Birkenhead School, led to study with Roger Fisher at Chester Cathedral, and five years at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, gaining the Graduate in Music RNCM and then the prestigious Professional Performance Diploma of the RNCM. He was Assistant Organist to Roger Fisher at Chester Cathedral for two years, before moving to Merchant Taylors’ School, Crosby, where he is Director of Music. Recent studies at LJMU have led to a PGCertAEP focussing on Coaching and Mentoring in Education.
